4TH INTERNATIONAL FORUM FOR YOUNG COMPOSERS

 GUIDELINE

IN THE CASE OF THE SELECTION OF ONE OR TWO MIXED PIECES

 In the framework of a partnership between the CIRM, national centre for musical creation (Nice) and Ensemble Aleph, the CIRM takes in charge the production of the two mixed pieces which may be selected for the 4^th International Forum for Young Composers.

 The composers who wish to write a mixed piece will have to suggest, as well as the instrumental part, a detailed project for the electronic part. This project can include the score of the electronics, the means and working methods they want to employ, the organization of the production period…

The selection will be done according to:  

• The feasibility of the project during the production period

• The technological problems, particularly considering subsequent performances

• The artistic project itself

 The 2 selected composers will be invited for 2 weeks each in the studios of the CIRM in Nice, in order to realize the electronic part of their piece.

The dates are:

• From May, 15th to May, 26th, 2005 for the 1^st one.

• From May, 29th to June, 9th, 2005 for the 2^nd one.

 After discussion between the selected composer and the CIRM:

• A studio and the electronic and computer equipment needed for the realisation of the project

• A  musical assistant

will be at their disposal during the residency in the CIRM.
