First Young Composers' International Forum 

  

The First Young Composers' International Forum is being organized by the Ensemble Aleph (site : http://perso.wanadoo.fr/aleph, E-mail : monica.jordan@wanadoo.fr ) within the framework of its residencies at the Theatre Dunois in Paris and the La Napoule Art Foundation in Cannes (site http://www.lnaf.org). 

The Forum aims to discover new and varied musical styles and aesthetics, promoting artistic exchanges between composers and performers. 

 

Submitted works should be of maximum 10' duration, and should be scored for 5 to 8 musicians from the following line-up (the performances are undirected) :

DominiqueClement               clarinet (B flat, E flat, bass, contrabass),
Lutz Mandler                         trumpet, piccolo trumpet or Alpine horn (F, F sharp, G) or
                                                didgeridoo, (see range)
Noemi Schindler                    violin,

Françoise Matringe
              piano,
Sylvie Drouin
                         piano or accordion or synthesiser (DX7 et Sampler 2000),

A reading panel, formed by the members of the Ensemble Aleph, will select the musical works (The list will be available on the site on 17 June 2000). 

  

The selected composers will be the guests of the La Napoule Art Fondation* in Cannes, from 15 to 25 August 2000, for workshop and discussion sessions with the Ensemble Aleph. This Summer session will end with a preview concert. 

The musical works will be performed at the Theatre Dunois in Paris in October 2000 after another rehearsal session in September at the Theatre. 

With the support of the SACEM, CDMC, Ministry of Culture, DRAC Ile de France, General Council Val de Marne, ENM Evry, La Napoule Art Foundation, Theatre Dunois...* We are negotiating travel subsidies.
