In February 2000, the musicians of the Ensemble Aleph launched the project for the First International Forum for Young Composers. Pieces by thirteen composers of different nationalities were selected. In August 2000, composers and performers worked together during the residency at Chateau de La Napoule Art Foundation. Their collaboration resulted in: - a series of concerts in Paris (theatre Dunois-october 2000), in London (February 2001), in Corfou (June 2001) and in Montepulciano (August 2001). - the edition by the Cdmc, the Sacem and the Ensemble Aleph of a logbook (interviews of composers and performers collected at La Napoule) accompanied by 2 CD (the recording of the 13 pieces at the Paris Concerts). The 1rst International Forum for Young Composers was realised within the frame work of the Europe 2000 Culture Program. Wishing to continue the exploring of new and varied musical styles and aesthetics, the Ensemble Aleph organizes, in 2002-2003, the Second International Forum for Young Composers.
